Good morning, Next on our exclusive session, we have Rakesh Mohan reporting live on the ' flight of Le Horla’ from the Gas works at La Villette.
Good morning , ladies and gentlemen. It's me Rakesh Mohan from ABC News. Today is the day, 8th July. We are right in front of Le Horla, the huge hot air balloon which is going to take off from La Villette. The balloon is lying in the courtyard and has the appearance of a cake made of yellow cloth, flat on the ground under a rope.As the gas is beginning to enter into the balloon through a long tube, it is swelling like an enormous worm.
Around 300 enthusiastic people are watching these moments . Now the passengers are getting in. The Captain Jovis, Lieutenant Mallet, M. Etierine Beer, M. Paul Bessand, and M. Patrice Eyries, all the heroes boarded in the large basket fixed below the balloon. I can see their gestures . Now Patrice Eyries is coming down because the balloon can’t bear too much weight.
M. Joliet begs the ladies to move a little away because, when the balloon lifts, sand will be thrown into their hats. Now he is going to cut the ropes that hold the balloon to the ground. Oh! Look! Le Horla is flying upward, like a bird! People are screaming with excitement ! Now the giant balloon hover over the city of Paris and it is slowly disappearing! The sight of the earth from the balloon will be fantastic! We wish the passengers a heartily congratulation and best of luck!
