My experience in Freedom Struggle

       Gandhiji’s call to the women of India brought me out of the four walls of my home. I realized the fact that India's freedom was not only a responsibility of the men but also the women. I was deeply impressed by the ideology of non-violence by Gandhiji. He proved that bravery is not only a matter of physical strength but the patience and nonviolence. I was impressed when he said to people, “to stand the blows of your enemies and not to hit back is a greater form of bravery.

       Thus, gained the strength from his words, we decided to fight against the British. We made our heart strong. We took part in the processions. We boycotted the foreign goods and burnt the foreign clothes in open spaces.  We disobey the laws and bore the lathi blows with courage, without showing any resistance. As many of us were injured and were bleeding, we encouraged one another to bear the pain and not hit back. Not hitting back is the essence of non-violence.

       When the freedom fighting organizations were banned and the male leaders were sent to jail, we came to the forefront. We remained unflinching in our resolve. Many of us were sent to jail. But we were ready to make sacrifices to make our people free. Gandhi was our inspiration. We continued to fight for freedom until we got it. I am glad to say that the mighty British Raj had to leave India granting us freedom on 15 August 1947

It was really an unforgettable day in my life. I got an opportunity to meet Gandhiji, the great leader and freedom fighter of India! As I enquired him why he opposed machinery, Gandhi replied that he wanted to make the peasants and artisans of India employed who are suffering out of unemployment. He wants to make India self - reliant in every field. He gave me a lot of suggestions and ideas. He is really a man of virtues. He has a clear vision about his nation and society. I'm deeply inspired by his thoughts and words. Now, I also wish to do anything good for my society like him. 

3. Imagine that Gandhiji is interviewed by some of the French students who organized the reception. Frame a few questions that they would ask.

• What are your impressions about the French people and the French culture?

• We have heard you saying that you have read Rousseau and Victor Hugo? Who did inspire you the most among them?

Indian women displayed their valor and heroism in the ongoing freedom struggle here yesterday. They challenged the British colonialism In a remarkable display of courage. They disobeyed the law, received lathi blows to the head and stood unflinchingly for freedom. Their heroism has not only cemented their support for the movement but also has strengthened the anti-colonial protest. Their actions were widely covered by the media and they got wide support from all over India.  These women are inspirations to all Indians in the fight for freedom.

 A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings,- Write-Up

 "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings," is a beautiful short story written by the Colombian write Gabriel García Márquez. The story, written in the form of magical realism, depicted the themes of human cruelty and exploitation on a supernatural being. The story follows an old man with wings, found in the courtyard of a couple. The reactions of people to him is not one of admiration, but rather of curiosity, greed, and ultimately, neglect.

The story opens with Pelayo and Elisenda finding the old man in their backyard. They believe that the old man is an angel, and captive him in their chicken coop. Their initial compassion quickly diminishes as the old man's presence attracts attention of the others. They fix an amount to see the angel, and thus the old man becomes the people's entertainment. 

As the old man's condition worsens, the people's interest turns towards another woman who has been changed as a spider by a thunder storm. Later, the old man becomes a burden for the couples also. This indicates the fickle-minded attitude of the people. Ultimately,  his wings, once symbols of divine power, now withered and decaying. 

The story concludes with the old man's departure. It is a silent commentary on the human tendency to exploit the extraordinary and disregard the suffering of the vulnerable.

1. ए सी के बजाय जनरल कोच से सफर का आनंद लेना - इसका मतलब क्या हो सकता है ?

उत्तर :

एसी कोचों में ज्यादातर अमीर लोग ही सफर करते हैं। उनके बीच कोई बातचीत नहीं होती। इसलिए, एसी कोच में यात्रा करना अक्सर उबाऊ हो सकता है। लेकिन जनरल कोच में हम कई साधारण लोगों को एक साथ देख सकते हैं। इससे हमें अलग-अलग लोगों की जीवनशैली को समझने और मित्रता साझा करने का अवसर मिलता है।

2. युवती का गला रूँध जाने का कारण क्या हो सकता है?

उत्तर : 

 जब महिला यात्री ने 100 रुपये में शॉल मांगी तो युवती यह सोचकर बहुत दुख हुआ कि यह उसके लिए बहुत बड़ा नुकसान होगा।

3. "वो एक बार में ही टेढ़ सौ में मान गई | गलती की, थोडा तोल - मोल और करना चाहिए था " - इस कथन से लोगों के किस मनोभाव का परिचय मिलता है?

उत्तर:

यहाँ मनुष्य की अधिक लाभ पाने की लालच को दर्शाता है।

4. "उनकी आंखों में भी वही नमी थी, जो आज उस युवती की आंखों में थी |" लेखक को पिताजी और उस युवती में कौन सी समानता हो सकती है?

उत्तर :

उस युवती की तरह, लेखक का पिता भी रेलगाड़ि में सामान बेचने का काम करता था | वे दोनों अपने परिवारों के लिए मेहनत करते हुए समान रूप से थक चुके थे। इसलिए, दोनों की आंखों में निराशा के आंसू देखे जा सकते थे।

 आज मेरा जीवन के सबसे अविस्मरणीय दिन था | उस घड़ना मैं कैसे भूल सकता हूँ ? होशियारपुर से मुझे एक शादी का बुलावा आया था | बीवी और बच्चे के साथ ट्रेन में जाने की तय हुआ | सर्दी के कारण ए सी के बजाय जनरल कोच चुने गए | डिब्बे में जम्मू की शॉल बेचने वाली एक युवती आई | मेरे पत्नी और उस युवती के बीच में सौदा हुआ | जब युवती ने शॉल की कीमत 200 रुपये बताई तो पत्नी ने 100 रुपये को देने की कहा।उस समय युवती का गला रुंध गया और उसकी आंखों में आंसू भर गया। इसे देखकर मुझे अपने पिता की याद आ गयी। वह भी इस युवती की तरह रेलगाड़ि में सामान बेचने का काम करता था। जब मेरे पिता काम के बाद थके हारे घर आते तो मैं उनकी आंखों में भी ऐसे ही नमी देखता था। जरूर, आज का दिन मुझे कभी नहीं भूल सकता | भगवान उस युवती को आशीर्वाद दें।

रेलगाड़ी के अनुभव ने पति को अपने पिता की याद दिलाई | ये सारे घड़ानाए जिक्र करते हुए पति अपने दोस्त के नाम पर एक पत्र लिखता है| वह पत्र कल्पना करके दिखे  |
